Inspection Depot manages residential property inspection programs for insurance clients. We are currently seeking independent contractors throughout California to complete residential property inspections in multiple counties.

Our inspections support insurance underwriting and may include property condition documentation, high-value homes, and replacement cost evaluations.

The inspection process has been simplified. Inspectors are responsible for contacting and scheduling homeowners, completing a series of property-related interview questions, and taking clear, thorough photographs of the property. Inspectors are not required to write the full inspection report.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, reliable transportation, and the ability to use a smartphone and mobile applications. Prior construction, home inspection, property inspection, or related experience is preferred.

Training on our platform and inspection requirements is provided to qualified contractors.

Compensation

Compensation is paid per completed inspection/file, not per hour worked. The compensation range shown by Indeed is a required job-posting field and does not represent an hourly wage or guaranteed hourly rate. Fees vary by inspection type, scope, property characteristics, and location, with typical fees ranging from $45–$157 per completed file. Applicable fees are provided for review before accepting assignments. Payment is recieved per completed inspection. Inspectors are paid every 2 weeks for all approved inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Review and accept or reject assignment requests within the required timeframe.
  • Contact homeowners to coordinate inspections.
  • Schedule appointments and keep scheduling information updated in our platform.
  • Complete the required interview questions about the property and its systems.
  • Take clear, thorough photographs of the property, including interior, exterior, and roof photos as required by the assignment.
  • Document homeowner contact attempts and maintain accurate file information in the mobile platform.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and the Inspection Depot team.

Required Equipment

  • Extension pole and camera or smartphone for roof photography, as needed.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A drone is not permitted for this inspection program.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Compensation is per completed assignment, and work availability varies by location and client demand. Contractors are responsible for their own transportation, equipment, expenses, and applicable taxes.
